Default General Consensus for STEPs?

Did anyone ever come to a conclusion on whether STEPs are good or bad? I realize if you're a losing player everything is bad. STEPs are great for Party, that's for sure, get people stuck in an endless buy-in structure! STEPs are great for the heavy hitters, play big buy-in SNGs. But what about the smaller guys, the guys playing $20 and $30 SNGs? Is it worth it to buy-in in levels 1 or 2 and move up?

That doesn't answer the ? though, just because something is not cost effective for you doesn't mean it isn't for others. Essentially a STEP 1 has a $110 payout for $11 entry plus $1 fee, so it is no real different from a $10+1 in that regard, so if you can play >$10+1s then clearly you should and then just buy-in at STEP 2.

Play the 2 tables or don't play at all.

If you do play, the most cost effective way is buying into either Step 1 or 3. 2 sucks but you can get there incredibly cheaply.

I was thinking the same thing along the lines of 2-tables, and I wish you could transfer between 1 and 2 table buy-ins since they're the same monetary value but unfortunately you can't. With twice as many people playing the prizes are usually also twice as many people which helps a lot, the problem is 2-tables don't start all that often even in peak hours.

Speaking only for myself: The Steps are the best thing I've ever seen....Play at lower levels is wild with people "taking a shot"...Play tightens, dramatically,at S-4 & S-5....I am almost 50% ITM in S-5's and don't consider myself a great player...My "R.O.I." (Steps Only) is above 150% (more than 200 tournys)...I don't fear the sharks because of the flat-payout structure....I do not agree that the 2-tables are better...In my experience the single-table Steps are better....PS: to Breezeyo: Irie hasn't played yet, maybe not till this w/e...Can't get in a 2-table S-5 when he gets home at night

"I would never start at Level 1." I would as a $33 player. I wanna have a go at the steps soon, just a week or so of steps.

For those of you scoring at home:

SkipperBob's lifetime pre-Steps ROI = -98%
SkipperBob's Steps ROI = >150%

SkipperBob's cumulative lifetime ROI = -97.8%

Im sure I will get a laugh for this but anyways..
Ive been playing Pokerstars for the past year and finally installed PP last night since most of 2+2 refers to it and I wanted to be on the same field. Here is my (stupid) question..
What are the steps?! Is there a page that explains how these work?
Thanks,

PS - 1st night of PP bought in for $150 and signed off with $275 on cash games =) , I think PP really is easiers than PS, lol!
