Default Wrong Play?

Hey All, just wanted to get some feedback on a play I made at a final table WSOP Satellite Satellite tourney (winner gets entry into WSOP Satellite). Top 8 get entry, winner gets bragging rights. This is at Pacific, $5 buy-in. 176 people.

Chip Leader has 70,000 chips. I have 17,000 chips.

Everyone folds to Chip Leader who then early position raises 2x big blind pre flop. I call with AcJd.

Flop comes 5s 8s Jh. Chip Leader checks, I go All-in with top pair Ace kicker. Chip Leader calls with AdJs.

Turn comes Js, River is 7s giving Chip Leader more chips and me 5th.

Should I have waited until the turn to risk all my chips?

Nope - you figure you are ahead and if bragging rights are important to you and you want to win this thing - then pushing here when it is likely leader will call with a worse hand (KJ/QJ/1010 - flush draw) is the right idea. Say you wait (check) and when the turn brings a spade villain pushes his KJ into you? Do you call?

Anyway, congrats on the entry to the Sat. - hope you do well.

PS - I'm originally from Vancouver - love that city, hope you are enjoying it!

Looks good. He had a freeroll and beat you. A painful way to lose! Sorry.

Thanks for the feedback, I just get frustrated when someone draws out on me... which is the reason I went all-in. Plus if I bet like 5,000 or something and they went over the top it's maybe just one more bit of information...

Bah, I didn't realize that I posted something incorrectly... Chip Leader had AdQs not AdJs. Big difference I guess, but maybe no different on how I should play considering I wouldn't know she had that.

This is exactly like a hand I had the misfortune of playing last weekend. It took me nearly two hours and a bit of beer to convince myself that I did everything right. If a player simply wants to call in a herculean effort to suck out on you, there's simply nothing you can do about it. Anyway, you should welcome those calls. The majority of the time it will be you raking in the chips, right? Congratulations on the 5th place finish. I'm sure that took a bit of the sting out of getting rivered.

Yeah, considering top 8 all got the same prize... like I said would have been nice for the ego to finish first. Can't wait for the Tourney tomorrow!
