Final Pot: 7.50 BB I think my turn call is disgusting and I probably should have folded my hand here, but I posted to get your comments about betting out on this flop, is that a good move or not? |

Re: A3s from SB, flops pair of threes
Betting the flop is fine .....ONLY WITH LESS PLAYERS (like 2 or 3 seeing the flop). You have middle pair (albiet a low one), backdoor flush, and ace overcard.
Check/fold the flop. You may want to bet the turn, then check/fold the river. |

Re: A3s from SB, flops pair of threes
If you had a read on the CO or MP3 as laggy, I'd probably be one to try a checkraise here. I don't like the bet out on the flop, you're most likely not winning here, and even if you are, players will improve to beat you. You've got 1.5 outs with the bd flush draw, and I'll say 5 outs for the 3 aces and the 2 3s, and I'm completely discounting that wheel. check/call the flop, and check/fold the turn if you can't c/r.

Re: A3s from SB, flops pair of threes
With something this low, you really want to bet out on the flop?

With something this low, you really want to bet out on the flop? [/ QUOTE ] Checking is by far better than betting. Check and call an early bet, check and fold for two cold. Action after a late position bettor requires a read. Even if someone bet and it would be heads up, pot would be giving you 7:1 odds to draw to your 6.5 outs. edited - disregarded hero's position. |

Re: A3s from SB, flops pair of threes
In general, you would need a pretty good hand to bet into 5 other people. Something like A8-Q8 might not even be worthy of a bet (better to try for a check/raise). 99 is honestly the 1st hand I would bet out with (other then maybe 54 for the OESD). Betting into large fields with weak hands is just throwing bets away imo.

Re: A3s from SB, flops pair of threes
Check/folding for one bet would be bad too. Pretty easy to at least see the turn with this type of hand.
