pokerroom.com
Any of you guys play there? When I first started playin online, this was the site, because I could play on my Mac.
I don't have a PC here, and the emulators all suck, so I'm thinkin of goin back there. Anyone know if the games are good there? Or is PP so juicy that it's the only one really worth playing right now? |

Re: pokerroom.com
PR is juicy enough for me. I tried to go to Party and could not adjust to the suckouts. Lost 7 buy-ins in 3 days. Finally quit blaming it on variance and came back to PR. I've made back those 7 buy-ins plus 2 so far.
S/N on PR is Caruso329. Look me up on the .25/.50 NL tables. |

Re: pokerroom.com
How does it compare to PP in terms of selection?
If it makes more sense for me just to get a little PC to play on, I can do that. But if I can make a good profit over on PokerRoom, I'd like to do it. |

Re: pokerroom.com
I started out on PR.com because I use Linux. I have since started using windows so I can play party/etc. Here are a few comments (that only apply to limit holdem).
1) In the 1/2 to 3/6 world, I find PokerRoom to be tighter than the party counterpart. The PokerRoom games are still very beatable and might be nearly as profitable as party. I played PR recently after a few months of playing only at party. The increased tightness made me make some adjustments, but there was no real problem. 2) When I last checked you could not get stats with the java client that you would be using from your mac. I think this puts you at some disadvantage because you won't be able to use poker tracker, etc. 3) The population of PokerRoom is much less than party. At PR you will find yourself going up against the same players day after day. 4) There are far fewer tables to choose from at PokerRoom, especially if you play limit above about the 2/4 level. |
