Borgata 20-40 same cast of characters.

UTG (a little loose at times, but its totally donktastic) raises, folded to Bunky on the Button and i smooth call with J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Blinds actually fold and its HU.

Flop A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I would prefer a raise preflop but since you called...
If its a loose player I would reraise on the flop and fold to a reraise. If you get called he probably got you beaten and I would slow down. His raise on the flop is pretty standard no matter what card he has.

why the smooth call preflop? just felt like changing it up a bit? would have made this hand a lot easier for sure...

everyone will blast you for not raising with JJ, and if this was online, i definetly would also.

but this being live, i think its okay. raise the flop- see where you're at and then go from there.

Smooth calling a raise with JJ is NOT my typical play. This cat raised UTG which I had not seem him do yet, he would limp a lot but hadn't raised at all UTG.

yeah it was a changeup. The only that that caught my attention is I hadn't seen him Raise out of EP at all. Just looked stronger than a usual raise.

calling pf is reasonable on occasion. raise the flop is you want to proceed. bet the turn against players that you can fold to a raise safely. check the turn against the ones you cant; call a river bet.
