Ok...I'm playing in my home game and someone out of nowhere declares that a A-5 straight is the second best possible straight, beating every straight except T-A. I was like, what the f*** are you talking about?
Anybody ever hear of this...and maybe you can shed some light on it? Maybe I'm wrong??? Thanks |

Can I come to your homegame?
Your friend is completely wrong. The value of a straight is determined by the highest card. Ace can either play as high or low, not both. You were right, he was wrong. Freakin |

...and a pair of 2's with Ace kicker, beats Queens with a King kicker.

I believed this briefly when I was new to poker. The A2345 straight is called the "Bicycle". In Pai Gow the Bicycle is the second best straight possible. Like me, this is probably where he got the idea from.

[ QUOTE ]
A2345 is the Wheel. [/ QUOTE ] It's both (or should that be either?). |
