Default Unusual Hand

Commerce 40-80.

5 limpers. I raise on button with Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].SB folds. Okay playing part-time tournament/ring game woman call in BB. All limpers call.

Flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB checks. Cowboy UTG+2 bets. MP calls. I call. BB calls, quickly.

Turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB checks. Cowboy bets. MP calls. I just call. BB calls.

River: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

BB checks. Cowboy checks. MP checks.

I check. BB turns over 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Next two players muck. MHIG.

I'm guessing at least one if not both of the muckers misread BB's hand? Or they really could not beat an 8 high? Very strange indeed.

your preflop raise with a hand that usually is not best after 5 limpers seems incorrect. then vs all those opponents calling with nothing seems like a play that will cost you most of the time. i think you see the flop for one bet, then fold when it is bet and there are callers (maybe with 2 overcards and the backdoor you see the turn), but then you fold. again, this is about most situations of this type, it worked out here, but again i think over time it costs you $.
