Default A thought

I have a hypothesis that a very high Attempt to Steal stat, as in >40%, is quite profitable at 10/20 6-max for a relatively strong postflop player. It could just be variance, but it seems like the more often I try to steal, the more money I'm making. There are situations to avoid of course, but this is an area where many 2+2ers might be able to amp up their games.

I've always thought I might not steal/defend enough, but I'm a 2+ BB/100 winner at 5/10 and 10/20 6-max. I think it really depends on your style, and I do think I'm strong postflop. I think over 40% is too much though, but I could see how it being in the 30% range might not be bad.

Either that or somebody could just yell at me right now and tell me to get to 30% or over AtSB.

Yes, it's possible I'm overstating it. Maybe I should change the >40% to a ~40%.

Don't worry, only a small minority can make use of it.

I think this could certainly the case as long as you take two things into account.

1.) Table image. When you start stealing a lot, sometimes the people you are constantly stealing from will wake up and take notice. You have be paying attention how they view you. One of the most common profitable blind steal stituation is where you raise, BB calls (because they love to defend the BB), and then check folds the flop. You want this to keep happening.

2.) Reads... self-explanitory.

i think 40% is too high

i think 60% could be profitable against some opponents and agree that it has a lot to do with your post flop ability - mostly i love to be the BB when the guy on the button has a steal % above 35 or so
