Are there decent size MTT on line ?
hey... i'm pretty new to playing on line still... pokerstars is the only website i've played at and mostly have played small cash games or sngs. however i have done well in the past in live mtts and would like to start playing some of them online. the thing that turns me off is the hugeee turn out in all the pokerstar mtts. they are often 1500+ and take 6+ hours. are there any sites with 50-150 player mtts and if so where can i find these?

Re: Are there decent size MTT on line ?
Yes. But the problem is, you'll either need to play in tournaments beginning at very undesirable hours of the day or higher ($100+) buy-ins.
Your best luck is to download one or two of the more obscure sites if you'd like to play fields of 100-500 people. I just signed up for NoblePoker, they offer some MTT's that are limited to 325-max entrants at very reasonable buy-in prices. |

Re: Are there decent size MTT on line ?
gamingclub.com has a bunch of 10-30 dollar tournaments that get 100-300 entrants. Empire has a bunch of tournaments that also get a few hundred people but I hate there MTT interface. Just go to a bunch of sites and take a look around. I am guessing/trying to remember but I think paradise, interpoker and the rest also have small tournaments with a couple hundred people fields.

Re: Are there decent size MTT on line ?
I don't know what sort of buy-in level you are interested in, but a couple of good options for MTTs in a variety of games that will not attract several hundred or thousand players like PokerStars is FullTilt and BugsysClub. Both of these sites, IMO, offer quite good tournament structures by online standards. Planet Poker used to be a good option for smaller MTTs as well, but they still haven't gotten MTTs back up since they switched software several months ago.

Re: Are there decent size MTT on line ?
Try the smaller sites and the more European oriented sites, their tournaments tend to be smaller. I play a lot at Bodog (usually about 150 players at $10-25 entries) and Interpoker sometimes has very small turn out.

Check out Poker Room. I can't stand the interface, but their tourneys usually vary between 50-250 players.

Their tourney structure sucks big time, it's way too fast (at least for me). You start with 1500 and these are the blind levels you'll see in the first hour: 10/20, 15/30, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200. If you don't hit some cards in the first hour, you're done. |
