( i know i should bet here to figure out where i stand) [/ QUOTE ] Yup...I hope he didn't show you Q3/T3...But I bet he shows you AK/JT/QT which is great. I would have bet the pot on the flop, called a moderate reraise, fold to a push. Folded to a large bet or Checked behind the turn. Bet the river. -Gryph |

No. Bet the flop for value. I think you played this hand fine. He turned over JJ or QQ?

would your play of this hand differ much if he was a solid player??

no it would not and here is why.
I would of course bet that flop but against a solid you have even less to worry about because solid players won't limp UTG with any card that contains a 3 short of 33 then call a raise out of position with that hand. They also probably won't limp call JJ, QQ. Therefore against a solid player, I expect to be ahead 95% of the time on the river. I am less certain against a fish as they can forseeably play this way with A3, j3, Q3, QQ, JJ. |

You have to bet the flop, and you should probably be willing to back this with your whole stack, depending on just how LAG the villain was.
Finding out where you stand is not the main reason for betting the flop. Most important is simply betting for value, followed by protecting your hand (that queen sure didn't help), and also protecting your bluff (stealing on a board like this is much easier if you bet your made hands as well). The way you played it, I would probably just call on the river. That $10 cold mean a lot of things, but it's consistent with a pretty standard trips slowplay, or even a paired Q betting for value. Only push if you feel very confident that he will call with a worse Jack or a medium pocket pair. |

thanks for the help,
anyways he showed me JJ this was typical of how my entire night went last night, even accidently folded AA once in a raised 40BB pot. Can u resize the tables? so multitabling is easier and i wont accidently fold hands when the tables pop up. anyone not lose their stack here on the river? |

against fish I just call it right there.
remember, not every fish is a lag. although I think at these stack sizes, pushing it in is fine. Personally I put him on lower flush. |
