Default $55s, Consistent Allin play

I have seen the following play over the past 6 SnGs in the early levels. Is there some logic, or +$EV calcs that make this a good move? I also see this called with AK.

Are these just the fish on the $55s? They've learned not to call with Ax?

calling such a raise with AK doesnt seem a bad plan

i would likely fold 1010 simply because its early to take a marginal position - if your not going to fold 1010 in this spot i prefer pushing because only a flop containing a 10 really clarifies your position

On a $200 the other day, someone raised from UTG. UTG+1 moved in on him. It was a big raise - a situation much like the one below.

UTG called instantly and flipped over TT and beat AK.

While bemoaning his fate, UTG+1 said to UTG "I don't know why you called".

UTG's reply was simply: "pocket tens". In other words, it's just self evident that you don't fold TT preflop.

Well, calling with AK all-in here is not something I would do.

But Scuba, more importantly, when the blinds are 100/200 and you raise to 500 from a 3K stack with 88 on the button and the tightest player at the table pushes over the top of you for 1500 from the BB... you have to fold.

Yeah, you're right. Coming from the second tightest player at the table, I really should have folded...

Put I had pot odds tho? (I'm laughing as i write this).

And you did lay down a nice hand. Next time, I will fold to you, even if I have AA.

Hi Scuba,

quick question about this hand, you folded 66 UTG+1 in the first hand, I'd usually be trying to limp in here, with implied odds up the...

Are you folding because in the 55's you'll almost always get raised out of the pot? In lower buy in tournies I get to see a flop here often enough that I feel its worth a limp for 15 chips. FWIW I'm folding from level 3, level 2 if its an unusually aggressive table.

cheers

Bismal, it's worth it to limp with small pps when there are many limpers. I don't think there were many limpers in front of me when I folded.
