I recommend not getting a leather chair unless you're planning to wear a burka.

If you are looking for a chair because you play so much that your back is hurting, getting a chair in the $100 range is -EV. I made that mistake and now am buying a Herman Miller Aeron for $750. It would have been $600 if I hadn't been cheap and bought a $150 "nice" leather chair first. That said, I play 10 hours a day but while searching this forum to help me make up my mind, I read someone claim that even 2-3 hours a day requires a good chair in the long run. Something to consider FWIW.

Good call, jokerthief.
When I went chair shopping at the local OfficeMax and Staples nearly every chair on display had something on it that was broken. Since I spend a lot of time in my chair, I did some research on high-end ergonomic chairs The Freedom Chair was my choice. I shopped around and got one with the gel seat, advanced gel arms, and headrest for $847. The Leap Chair was also close in the running for me. I happened to see a NASA mission control room on TV and all the chairs were Leap. They’re not for everybody, but if you make your living at the computer it is definitely +EV to go high-end ergonomic in your workspace. |

IKEA. $120 for the chair, $100 for the table (although I built the mouse pad table with leftover parts from the bigger one). If dollars mean ergonomics, this setup aint, but I've used it for almost a year, and it is soooo comfortable.
Adde ![]() PS. The ass imprint is from a friend; I'm actually not a Professional-Poker-Player size. |

IMO the aeron chair is a overpriced POS. My roommate had a LEAP and it was a great chair.
