Default Help with my new Dell Monitor

I just got my new Dell FT2001. When I try to set it to 1600x1200 resolution, a message pops up on my monitor that says "2VI-D Cannot Display this Mode". I am at 96 dpi. Can anyone tell me what I need to do differently please?

New pc and old monitor? If so, you may need a new monitor...

Is it LCD? It needs to be 20" to display 1200x1600. If it is a CRT then you need to check the monitor spec. to see what it is capable of. If the pc allows you to choose 1200x1600 then the video card must be capable of this, so it must be your monitor.

Thanks - I did some more checking. The problem is they shipped me the wrong model. Duh. Now I've got to arrange an exchange. Fun Saturday coming up
