Party $5/10 6-max.
I raise KK UTG. CO 3-bets, BB cold calls, I cap, they call. BB I don't know. UTG seems to be a non-idiot. Flop: Q 5 5. BB checks, I bet, CO calls, BB check-raises. Hmm, don't like that, but what to do? I 3-bet, and CO caps! Eek. What's your line from here on? Guy.

Guy I know you are a non-idiot so I will assume you are talking about the cutoff. I wouldn't throw in a cap like the cut-off did unless I had started off slowplaying QQ.
So I am betting into the CO on the turn to see what happens. If he raises again I am calling down from there unless anything stupid hits the board like another queen.

i call the cap because the turn might be a king
its hard not to get to a showdown but i'm usually plenty scared by the call/cap coup - one problem is that i see average players play 1010 the way the cutoff played this hand stripsqueez - chickenhawk

In a nutshell, I am trying to get to showdown on the cheap if possible. I don't like the sequence thus far too much... but I think your hand is too much to laydown yet with this limited read you have.

There is no way you are folding this hand. You call down atleast, I am more inclined to even raise the turn and call the 3bet on the turn and call down on the river.
You beat any hand beside 5x or QQ. No folding this. This a money hand.

You are afraid of QQ. Would someone play A5 here? I wouldn't think so, but I've been wrong before. So, your facing either a set of Queens, AA, or some kind of hand with a queen it in.

So I called the last bet on the flop and check-called from there on, one bet on turn and river. BB had AQ. CO, damn his eyes, had the dreaded QQ.
For me, CO's QQ was emblazoned in large shiny letters in the sky, so I wondered if a fold might be in order but felt that would be giving rather too much credence to a less than 100% read. Thanks to all of you for confirming that. There is one guy in the Stars $3/6 game who would never do this without QQ... but I think I'd still call him down anyway just so I could moan about it afterwards [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] Mucho thanks to Stripsqueez for the phrase "call/cap coup" which is delightful. Guy.
