Default KK on the button in a large pot

Do you think this hand was played correctly??

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
3 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB 3-bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, Hero caps, BB calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: (20.50 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
BB bets, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, Hero raises, BB calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

Turn: (14.25 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, MP2 checks, MP3 checks, Hero bets, BB calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

River: (18.25 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, MP2 bets, MP3 bets, Hero raises, BB folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

Final Pot: 18.25 BB
Main Pot: 18.25 BB, between Hero, MP2 and MP3.

(I'm not sure why, but the converter did not put in the action on the river, i put that in myself, nor did it count the action on the river into the final pot)

Default Re: KK on the button in a large pot

I play the hand basically the same. However, is this a good chance to wait for a safe turn card before raising? I am having a tough time figureing out when is a good time to apply this principle. This flop raise seems like a good value raise though.

Your river action is a little messed up, not sure if MP3 or MP2 is doing the betting. I'd be inclined to call the river only to encourage overcalls from worse hands and avoid a 3-bet from a straight, but I see MP betting out with a river 2-pair often enough to think raising might be correct. Interested to hear analysis from more experienced players.

I don't know that raising the river when any 2 spades or any one 9 will beat you is such a great idea.

Aside from that, looks good.

I think you played it good. I don't think I would be giving free/cheap cards in this situation. Given the already scary flop. Because you will have to worry about any 8 or 9, 10 or A, and then you won't be able to raise the turn. But it is debateable. I might consider checking that river, with 3 others in the pot I would get a bit worried. 3 spades and a 9 makes a straight. But I am a chicken. It pisses me off when I lose a big pot because some bird brain was holding 92o or something. I think betting that river is +EV so you should do it. Good work

Cheers,
Pots
