He's giving a good speech, and is addressing the Social Security crisis quite well. He quoted the proposals of past Democrats (Bill Clinton, Moynihan, etc.) as possible options.

For a while there it sounded like there was a protester section. He spoke through it well, though.

Longest applause yet. Hopefully it shows some spine in the Senate GOP.

Bush is giving one of his best speeches ever. Strong, no verbal glitches, in total control.

The mother of a Marine killed in Iraq embraces a woman who got to vote for the first time a couple days ago...

and there are liberals out there that don't understand why.

Not to minimize that scene and what it represents, but please don't pander to vague demagoguery. It waters down the weight of your future arguments against liberals.
