Did I really deserve a keyboard lashing for this play?
I don't think so, but the guy I cracked went on and on. I should of kept my mouth shut, but just couldn't. Used the old, "Hold on while I count your chips" line, he didn't get it, kept bitching me out, I thought I played it just fine.

I think 9 to 1 was plenty to see a flop.
nice hand. Edit. 9-1 assuming the limpers call. |

He's an idiot. You're getting 7-1 with two players left to act. Nice hand.

Re: Did I really deserve a keyboard lashing for this play?
You opponent is crying because his all-powerful aces got cracked. Pre-flop call is absolutely fine.
I play this flop differently, and bet out. It would be lovely to trap players between yourself and CO. If CO raises (and he often will), then call and go for the lovely turn C/R, as you did. Jon |

good point, definitly don't slow play w/4 other players in the hand, gain bets from them now while they are willing to call.

Re: Did I really deserve a keyboard lashing for this play?
Thanks for the replies.
I see the point of leading out/3 betting it. But wouldn't I want to do that if I wanted to isolate the pf raiser, or steal the pot right there? What was I to be scared of on that flop? I think (hindsight being 20/20) that had I bet out, the pf raiser would have raised, and it probably would have gone headsup. Not a terrible thing, but with such a strong hand, don't I want to keep another player or two in, and then make my move on the turn like I did? I think that because of the Button's play in this instance, my play worked well for me. Any flaws in my reasoning? |

Any flaws in my reasoning? [/ QUOTE ] Yes. You win more betting out on the flop. |

Re: Did I really deserve a keyboard lashing for this play?
dude, what? no... no no no.
how are you getting this headsup preflop? you've got people trapped between you and the preflop raiser. sure they may get freaked out that it'll get raised behind them, but it's a lot easier to call this one now then it is to call two cold. you don't have much to fear in this hand, your hand is WELL disguised, you've flopped the nuts, and you know between you and some (likely) dead money is a raiser likely to pad this pot for you. bet this puppy, don't get tricky. and don't worry (yet) about what cards are out there that scare you. there's probably nothing that scares you immediately on the turn, either. |
