QJo flops second pair, question about default mode

I'm expecting this guy to raise with top pair, so I figure he's got a worse jack. Is this a terrible default play when I'm in default mode (no reads).

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG (poster) checks, 1 fold, Hero calls, MP2 calls, 4 folds, BB checks.

Flop: (4.40 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls, BB folds, UTG folds.

Turn: (3.20 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP2 calls.

River: (5.20 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP2 calls.

Final Pot: 7.20 BB

I'm definetaly going to check the river.

Don't always put your opponents on a hand you can beat.

I would fold before the flop.

I would check/call the river. I think this is one of those "a better hand won't fold and a worse hand won't call" situations. I don't see much value in a bet.

Fold pre-flop.

River depends on your read of your opponent. If you check to him, will he auto-bet sensing weakness? In that case, it's much better to check/call. If you know Villain will call with worse hands and isn't particularly tricky, a bet here is fine.

Villain will probably call with a low pocket pair.

Fold preflop.

Also, with no reads, you cannot be sure that he wouldn't play like this with top pair no kicker, e.g., A5o.
