I finally got a win! -- low content.
Actually, it was about 2 weeks ago, but I finally got a tourney win. Field of 287, I believe. Admittedly, I low buy in $5 + .50. So I wanted to post a thanks to the 2+2ers whom I lurk frequently and learn much from.
At the time, I thought I'd post a full accounting of how a low buy-in guy won his first tourney. Then a week after it was over I finished transcribing. I read the transcript. Turns out, I stink! Or more correctly, I have a lot to learn, since I can easily critique my own play. Then a day later I thought to myself. Oh my god, at this level, I stink, and I'm STILL better than most of these players. So anyway. I decided to post this, and ask if anyone is actually interested in seeing the gruesome details of a low buy-in win. I'm sure most of the old hands would feel like they were watching a train wreck, but I'm guessing a few of the newer players might be interested. If there's an interest I'll post it. Thanks again for the reams of knowledge on the boards. Glintir, the mildly richer. |

Go for it - if you do this, please do one main thread but with each important hand it it's own reply. It would be much easier to make comments.

Re: I finally got a win! -- low content.
congrats !
i just won my 3rd tourney ever - I used to play multi's exclusively but started cash games after realizing they were more profitable for me. However I'm going on a poker tourney cruise next week and decided to play some tourneys to get my tourney game back - and I won the 1st one i played .. hehe It was only $10+1 and rebuys on stars, but got $2200 for first, not bad - even though I made more at the 30/60 in the same amount of time |

Um.. what? Are you saying that I should repeat key hands as replies to my own post to create sub threads for key hands?
I think that's what you're saying. |

Re: I finally got a win! -- low content.
I played cash games and tourneys for awhile, but realized that I was throwing myself off. I'm still too new to be bouncing between the two. So instead I play single tables for general bankroll stabilization, and multis to get the big money. So far it means I break even for 3 months then hit big.

Dude, if (when) I win one, you'd have to either pay me or shoot me to keep me from posting it.

Re: I finally got a win! -- low content.
Looks like 5.5 - 1 in favor of seeing the play by play. Okay, I'll post that later this evening. Probably across two posts. First two tables, last two tables.
