KQs
Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (10 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 2 folds, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls. Flop: (8.66 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) BB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero checks. Turn: (4.33 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players) BB checks, UTG+1 bets, UTG+2 calls, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls. River: (10.33 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, UTG+2 folds, Hero calls. Final Pot: 14.33 BB Mainly concerned with the river play. Feels like I played it badly. The flop check followed by the turn raise basically turns my hand face up. So it's a perfect spot for the c/r. Checking the river just felt too weak, even though I thought the :turn semibluff after picking up a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] draw was a possibility. Then I'm gettting 13:1 to call the river. I know I'm beat on the river. I'm just not 93% sure, maybe I should have been. I could have chased out the eventual winner with a flop bet, but I didn't see betting this flop. How would you play it. Commments on other streets welcomed. I had no notes on the opponent. |

Re: KQs
its fine. you clearly have to valuebet this river. im paying off this river raise against an unknown every time. call the bet and take it up the cornhole. nothing you can do.

Re: KQs
First off there seems to be a problem with your conversion of the hand history. According to the given description, I think it should read: 9 handed, 4 players on the flop and turn, and 3 players on the river?
Anyways, I'd say bet the flop here. If you get checkraised then look to the turn for improvement, and fold unimproved. If you get to the turn for one small bet, you now have the possible option of seeing a showdown for one more big bet by betting one or the other of the turn or river. With all the limpers, mid cards are a likely holding and you will need to hit one of your cards to take it down so you'd like to see as many cards as possible (+ a showdown) for as cheap as possible. With the line you took it's hard not to bet the river. It would depend on the players and my reads on them for me to make that bet. Keep in mind that a lot of draws did hit, and like you said you pretty much defined your hand. |
