Best mainstream band of recent years

OK. We've had lots of threads about great little bands that most people haven't heard of.

But who's the best band to emerge in recent years that has enjoyed huge mainstream success?

My vote goes to Coldplay.

Coldplay has certainly made 2 or 3 of my favorite songs over the last 5 years, which is as good a reason to say they are the best as any.

I would say Outkast, though.
