Re: Some questionable bubble play
Just my two cents but:
#1 I like the play. SB isn't getting pot odds to call you unless he has a hand, and BB isn't going to call you unless he has a better than average hand since he doesn't want to get knocked out. #2 I don't like this play if the BB understands about pot odds. You're in a steal position, and you're offerring him　12-7 odds. And you can't bust him. My range of hands would be pretty wide here. But in the 100's in particular it depends A LOT on the players. There are a lot of passive types who will just fold without a monster here. #3 It would depend a lot on my read on the player and what you think his read on you is. But in most cases I'd fold, since the typical 109 player is too passive to make this move without a hand. Plus he could easily have a pocket pair, and you really aren't beating that much. |

Re: Some questionable bubble play
1: Completely standard.
2: Slightly questionable, but I like it. 3: You need to check the flop. You can't make a credible bet without pot committing. The 500 bet stinks of weakness. You can consider checkraising if he makes a similarly weak looking bet. He will probably check the flop with a king. Then you can bet 500 on the turn, which now looks a lot like a king slowplay. You can then fold to a raise. I think it's worth giving up a single free card in exchange for avoiding the dodgy-looking flop bet. Edit: And conversly, I don't mind betting weakly here with the king sometimes, although check is also good. |

I was just answering what you should do next based on how you played it. But the 500 initially isn't a good idea without a king (I think sometimes slowplay, sometimes bet out in that case). |

Re: Some questionable bubble play
1 and 2 depends on your read of blinds calling tendency.
3. push PF and save you some headache since bb has 10bb left. |
