Re: A5s, was I right to stick round?
First and foremost. . . Limping UTG with A5s??? Not how I would do it, but you did. Fold to any flop bet. Not enough bets to play for runner-runner flush or an inside straight.

Re: A5s, was I right to stick round?
Na, some of our outs may not even be clean here. Go ahead and fold the flop.
Make sure this game is pretty loose passive for limping with A5s UTG. |

Re: A5s, was I right to stick round?
I'll play A5s at my B&M, not at an online 2/4 unless it's exceptionally passive. I would have played the hand the same way from there, though, which is another argument for folding preflop. The temptation to chase or to call down with second best is too great.

Re: A5s, was I right to stick round?
Wow.. .sorry to say, but you butchered this hand. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just telling you so you don't keep playing hands like this (just because you got lucky and won this one).
PREFLOP: fold. FLOP: fold. You're only getting 7:1 money. You're 4 jacks can't count as complete outs as you'll likely just end up splitting the pot most of the time. I'd allow 2-2.5 outs for your jacks. I wouldn't allow any "outs" for your aces because you're probably dominated by a higher kicker half the time, and beat by two pair the rest of the time. I'd give ya 1.5 for the backdoor flush draw. This gives, at most, 4 effective outs, for which you need 10.5:1 money. TURN: fold! You gained an extra 2 outs here (two 5's), but you lost 1.5 outs for your backdoor flush draw. The pot is now only giving 5:1 money. RIVER: Okay, but that doesn't excuse the rest of the hand. Adam |

Re: A5s, was I right to stick round?
i think limping Axs UTG is just fine at most tables you should be sitting at in party 2/4, for the record.
after that... fold the flop, fold the turn, bet the river. by my count, only half the streets misplayed! |
