Default Hard Rock Casino in Tampa

Eagles fan here and I'm headed down for the superbowl in Jacksonville. I'll be stopping off in Tampa. Anyone have any info on the games at the Hard Rock Casino there? Do they have poker room rates or anything like that? Any details would be appreciated.

all poker rooms in Florida have a maximum of $2 on betting rounds. I played 6 hours one day at the Tampa Hard Rock. If you are going with the frame of mind that you just want to go and have some fun playing poker it is a nice place to play. But with the $1-$2 limit holdem games, minimum 6 or 7 people can be expected to see every flop and most staying to the river, you can't play what I would call serious poker. When three diamonds flopped and all six people that paid to see the flop then paid to see the turn, all I could do was smile. By playing extra, extra tight so you don't get drawn out on too often and then getting some good cards you can make some money there but most leave the table broke with the rake giving the casino all the profits for the night. They were spreading some other games besides holdem and did have some big no limit holdem tournaments scheduled.

Florida cardrooms are awful. The rake is a $5 max. The hold 'em tournaments are limited to a certain number of hands. Even with all that mess, waits on a busy night were 3 to 4 hours (this was at the Hard ROck in Hollywood).

In other words, don't waste your time.
