Default TT mistake?

PP 20+2 2-table. I think I might have made a mistake in not calling here. My reasoning was that I wasn't going to be dominating often and I felt like the table was too tight just trying to get in the money (4 paid), allowing me to pick up a lot of blinds, to justify the gamble.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (7 handed) converter

Hero (t4905)
Button (t1550)
SB (t1770)
BB (t4425)
UTG (t2210)
MP1 (t1655)
MP2 (t3485)

Preflop: Hero is CO with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG raises to t2210 (All-In), MP1 folds, MP2 folds, Hero folds, Button folds, SB calls t1570 (All-In), BB calls t1810.

Flop: (t6190) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players, 2 all-in)

Turn: (t6190) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players, 2 all-in)

River: (t6190) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: t6190

Results in white below:
SB has 7d 7c (two pair, sevens and fives).
BB has Qs As (one pair, fives).
UTG has Ad Ks (one pair, fives).
Outcome: SB wins t5310. UTG wins t880.

I think you made the mistake not calling. I would have put the UTG on Ace King. I think you should have made the call seeing as to how you had almost 5,000 in chips. I mean, 10 10 is a solid hand, and there are hands.. but not many that can beat you. And you have to assume with the low chips stacks present. The all-in players were attempting to make a push. I would have been a little nervous when the BB called after me. But still thought I had the best hand. -Debra.

I have to go on the other side. I think the lay down might be the better thing to do. There is a lot in the pot but theres a lot you lose to or are racing with. With three other people in the hand pretty much any overcard will due it to you. Hoping theres no overpair. I think your being to result oriented. Would you have won this hand but your prob only looking at about 30% odds to win.

If you've been picking up the blinds pretty easily there is no reason to call with a hand that is probably a coin flip or dominated. If you lose then your going to have a lot harder time picking up the blinds with an average size stack.

He doesn't know there will be anyone else in the hand when he has to make his decision. But it does raise an important point - you are far from last to act, and you have to take this into account.

It borders on the weak-tight, but I'd make the same play.
