Question on Wendover Poker rooms
I live in Salt Lake City, and have to go to Wendover to play in a casino card room. Haven't made it out there in the last several months (have a 3 month old baby). Have been playing real small stakes tournies and cash games with a group of guys from my work lately, and they all have been wanting to go to Wendover for a small tourney plus some low stakes games. I understand the State Line and Montego Bay have opened up card rooms in addition to the Rainbow (which is where I have always gone). Any suggestions on which casino and which day would be best to make a trip (most of the guys at my work are pretty green, and I don't want them to get roughed up too badly)? Also info on what games/limits each casino now spreads would be appreciated. Thanks.

One more bump
I thought there used to be a few Wendover regulars here. I'll bump one more time and then let it go.

Re: Question on Wendover Poker rooms
sorry, I don't get there alot and when I do it's always Rainbow. Was at rainbow a couple weekends ago. All I heard about Montego is that smoking was allowed there vs. no smoking @ rainbow.

Re: Question on Wendover Poker rooms
Mano--
I go to Wendover rooms about 2-3 times a month. here's my rundown: Rainbow: the biggest room. Non-smoking, competition can be stiffer than the other rooms but decent table selection will get you in a good game most nights. The most played game is 2-5 with a kill, which will make newbies play at a limit they are usually uncomfortable with. Montego: Soft competition, they have a NL tourney at 7pm on Saturdays. Friday nights can be very good, but the room doesn't see a lot of traffic so it can dry up earlier than the Rainbow. They spread 1-5 and 2-10 although most games are 1-5. This is a great game because marginal holdings can usually be limped for $1. Nugget: Same limits as Montego. They've got a NL tourney on Friday nights at 8 I think. Competition seems comparable to Montego, maybe a bit stiffer. I'm always looking for people to make a trip with (I've got a similar situation as you in that most of my friends are very new and don't play much), so if you're interested in making a trip out there or meeting up, feel free to PM me.
