I'd vastly prefer betting the flop, and if suspicious of a Q, checking behind the turn. There are just too many hands that have a fair amount of outs that may fold the flop(gutshots come to mind), or pay 1 bet to see the turn. In most instances, you are giving a free card far more than you're getting one. Against 3 opponents, the flop is a must-bet IMO.
