Default Anyone Muck this set?

I have 22 on the button early on in the party 100+9. I limp behind two others with the blinds at 10/20. Big Blind is in and there's 4 of us. I have 1450 in chips and am leading the table i believe.

Flop- 2,5,Q (two spades)

Checked to CO+1 who bets 20 I make it 100 to go and he calls.

Turn-10s

He checks and I check.

River-6c (final board q,2,5,6,10 flush possible)

He bets 325 into a pot of 290 and I??? Thanks in advance.

I don't know how you could possibly check this turn.

the check behind on the turn is pretty bad. what were your thoughts on that?

you must call the river after checking the turn.

mucking sets on relatively unscary boards is an expensive habit.
doing so after one round of betting has been checked around is doubley so.

my thoughts on the turn were that he was on a flush draw and it got there.... I seem to make correct reads and I have been workin on acting on my reads that's why I posted this hand. Cause what good is a read if u dont use it?

Your check on the turn is awful. A fold on the river might possibly be even worse.

What's the difference here between checking the turn and facing a bet on the river?

By checking behind on the turn, you open it up for him to bluff on the river. Had you bet and been raised, you might have been able to give him credit for the flush, but now, a wide variety of possibilities are open.

If I get check-raised on the turn I face quite a dillemma as I may have odds to draw out on him and fill up. Like I said I was pretty certain he was on a flush draw so I wanted to draw for free. I do agree though that betting the turn is probably better as I will still obviosly be faced with a problem on the river.

Default Question for ZeeJustin or Anyone

Could you explain to me why checking the turn is so bad?

I would probably bet it but I'm clearly missing an important concept here as I would be fine with checking it too. Thanks.

you gain no information whatsoever, miss a chance to get more money in with the likely best hand, and you're giving a potentially dangerous free card.
