SSH - Good example of check-raising with mid-pair
Check-raising with mid-pair seems to be one of those concepts alot of people (myself included) had trouble understanding when they first read SSH. I just played this hand a few minutes ago, and I think it's a really good example of what Ed was trying to teach us.
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (7 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, CO folds, Button folds, Hero completes, BB checks. Flop: (3 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, BB checks, UTG bets, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG calls. Turn: (3.50 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, UTG folds. Final Pot: 4.50 BB edit: Now that I look over the hand more, It would have been a much better example if the pot was larger, but the concept is there. |
