Default Flopped trips, played terribly

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
2 folds, MP1 calls, 3 folds, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (4 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP1 checks, Button checks.

Going for the check-raise, whiffed.

Turn: (2 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP1 folds, Button calls, SB folds.

Leading out here, no brainer.

River: (4 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls.

4 diamonds on the board, I'm easily beat here. Check/crying call? Or should I have folded?

Final Pot: 6 BB

Comments needed on how I played this. Also, super bonus points if anybody can guess Button's hand (my only read on him is that he was pretty passive).

Paired board, no one raised pre-flop. Why would you think someone would bet this flop for you? Bet the flop!

agreed. whenever I try a check raise, I try to see how likely it is that somebody likes this flop. if not likely, a c/r prob. won't work

Yeah, I was thinking someone would take a stab with overcards, but looking back, that was pretty dumb.

I've seen a lot of posts these last few days of people not betting or raising the flop with a monster/great hand. It would NOT be a huge leak if you just fastplayed these hands from now on.

Agreed. And the board has 2 diamonds. Bet that flop.

How about the river call, any thoughts on that?

I think you have to bet the flop. With 646, it's likely that no one hit their flop other than you, so the checkraise isn't likely to work. Also, with two diamonds on the board, you don't want to give the draws a free card.

River Call -- with trips, I think you're committed to call it down.

Yeah, hard to lay down trips, even in a situation like this.

FWIW, Villian shows 44 for a flopped full house, played terribly.
WTF??
