Did i play this correctly?
Recently i played in a tourney. I had sat pretty tight for a couple of hours, only playing really worthwhile hands and i had a very tight image. I had folded pre-flop or after the flop when someone raised into me when i had nothing. Once i reraised after the flop with nothing and everyone folded to me.
I got dealt AK in a mid position, the guy immidately on my right, delayed but eventually called the 80 for the blinds. i raised 100, everyone folded execpt this guy who had a 2-1 chip lead on me called. The flop was Q, 7, 2 with 2 clubs. he checked, I raised 200, he re-raised me 200. I thought about it for a while and re-rasied all in 930. He took plenty of time, thinking out loud saying he thought i was on AA or KK (which i had hoped) but eventually called showing QA. two blanks fell and i was out. Thinking back, did I raise to much for the bluff (the pot was about 800 at the time)? should i have picked up on weak when strong (he had taken time over most calls)? was the 200 bet from him a bet for value (which is what i thought at the time)? Did i play it right or would a call or say a 500 bet been better? Any comments would be appriciated |
