free play with J3o
No read on villain, this was my first hand at the table.
PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $0.25. UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, Hero (poster) checks, Button folds, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: (6 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero raises, SB folds, BB folds, UTG+1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 calls. Turn: (5 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) MP3 checks, Hero bets, MP3 calls. River: (7 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) MP3 bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 9 BB I have this sinking feeling I played this all wrong. I raised the flop to try and drive out anyone who may have been on a draw and had overcards to my (ahem) 3 kicker. I bet the turn to see if I got checkraised... if I had been, I would have known I was in trouble. On the river, a 3rd diamond, and the villain bet out. Should I have folded, or was I correct to call? |

Re: free play with J3o
You're playing the board, and your opponent wakes up on the river. The ways in which you lose are endless. At the very best you're getting 4-1 to call the river (because you can only chop, you can't win unless you bluff-raise and your opponent magically folds). Easy fold.
