Default Pretty Interesting Hand IMO

I'm going to withold my comments until later.. I did not play this hand but I really like how the person who did played it. I think a lot of people will say to check-raise the flop, but I'm not so sure I'd like to shovel all those chips in drawing thin

reads:
MP is a LAG
CO is a terrible LP, and is posting a 1.5 SB blind
Button is a tough thinking TAG
SB is just mediocre
Hero is BB with red 99

LAG open raises, CO calls, Button 3-bets, SB calls, Hero calls

Flop (5 players, 15.5 SB): 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

SB checks, Hero checks, MP checks, CO checks, Button bets, SB calls, Hero calls, everyone calls

Turn (5 players, 10.25 BB): 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB checks, Hero bets, MP folds, CO folds, Button calls, SB folds.

River (2 players, 12.25 BB): Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero bets out as a bluff getting 12.25-1 that he'll fold what is certainly a better hand

every street is somewhat close and interesting

This is an interesting hand. I'll wait awhile before I chime in.

I wonder what Hero would have done, had the turn NOT been a 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Instead, say a 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]..... ?

I find this hand interesting as well. I think going for a checkraise on the turn might be the better play if you are trying to get someone to lay a hand down. An interesting thought here is that the 99 might actually be good in this instance. I've experimented recently on these 4 flush boards by raising when i'm bet at. I get a surprising number of laydowns when I do it. I wonder what hero's plan is if he's raised.

I think check-raising the turn is investing too much money in a pot that you are not going to win a large amount of the time. What if he's 3-bet?

Button is a thinking Tag- so his range of hands three betting an UTG LAG is fairly broad with a terrible player inbetween.
what Hands are you (yeah, i know its not you) hoping to fold on the river? The thinking Tag can't really put you on a single high club- as you would have wanted to put bets in on the flop against the two terrible players with you good flush draw. Why did you bet out on the turn then- and more importantly what did he call with? If he has a lone big club your dead- would he call with two overs with no club, and then pair one and then fold? I don't know how often you fold out AA-TT here if the player is thinking clearly about how you played this hand.
I don't object to the flop call and the turn bet.

My question was a rhetorical one.
