Default Stealing Blinds Late

So i'm in a satellite for the $350K on Pokerstars. I'm in late, about 12 people away from the bubble. I have been getting CRAP cards. Literally, a Q9 off was the best hand I got in 30 hands. I was sitting about 37th of 51 at the time. Top 34 get spots. My stack was about 6x the BB.

I am sitting on this, and its folded to the SB (me) and I raise about 4x BB to the BB, who has a similar sized stack. He calls. The flop comes Kxx. I go all-in, and he has K7.
Four hours up in smoke, I get nothing.

Is this an idiot play? My thoughts were, first, what are the chances he calls for most of his stack unless he has a premium hand? Second, what are the chances he catches the K for the other half of his stack?

Am I just an idiot? Was this just stupid, or was it a good play that just met some bad luck? Really like to hear some comments on this type of play late.

You should have just moved in preflop if yu were on a steal and where gonna bluff any board anyway...He still might of called...you cant do much about that, but at least yu wouldnt have let him see a flop where he flopped TP.
