Leak 1 - call fewer raises PF, this includes limping and then folding to a raise. If I limp in with AXs in EP and get raised 4x from MP, chances are good the raiser has a PP. If I have A6s and he has mid-PP like 99 I am going into the flop a 2:1 dog. In the past if I would limp with a hand I would call a raise after limping, I guess it was a pride thing. Now I do not think twice about folding.
Granted there are exceptions based on reads. Leak 2 - call fewer bets on the flop when I do not hit it. If the pot is $10 and all I am looking at is a back door draw(s) it is throwing money away calling bets on the flop of $4 or more. What I am hoping to accomplish by removing these leaks is to focus more on the hands that give me a better opportunity to win, am I making my game any weaker by removing these things I am calling leaks? I have some LAG tendencies and I am hoping this will help right the ship. |
