I had a set of deuces
My question is this:
Was it wrong to slowplay the deuces in this situation? I will not post the results until I receive an answer. I thought that this was one of the times that SSh said you should slowplay. I love slowplaying. I am not concerned about the results: i'm just wondering if i made the correct player. thanks guys PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Re: I had a set of deuces
I'd call on the flop then bet the turn hoping to get the chance to 3-bet.

Re: I had a set of deuces
I really like your play in this hand. The only hand that came through on the river that you couldn't give CO improper odds to call on the turn was T8.
I think he had KT though, so he made a -EV call on the turn (edit: unless it was K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]). Your play is good. |

Re: I had a set of deuces
I think this flop is so ragged it screams slow-play me. It looks like you'll get action so, play it up.

Re: I had a set of deuces
The only thing you need to do is make sure you're confident that the button will really bet the turn. Recently, I've been seeing lots of players raise the flop, but become passive on the turn and river.
If you're not confident about it, go with a flop 3-bet. You're likely going to get 4 players to see the turn for three or maybe even four bets (note SB just called two cold, so he's not going anywhere). In your line, if the the turn gets checked through, you lose BIG. |

Re: I had a set of deuces
i like the way you played it on all streets but the river, I think with that many players and a bet out behind you, w/ 810 and K10 making the str8.... i think it would be better to call, if someone who was drawing to the straight hit it theyre going to raise, and if they dont have it theyre going to fold, and its more likely the players with a top pair/other pair wont call your raise when you would want them to and u wont get that overcall

Re: I had a set of deuces
I like betting the turn and hope button raises and traps two players rather than just one on a check-raise.

CO shows K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] for the nut straight. On a side note, SB mucked Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] . So there were two straight draws out agiainst me. |
