Default Aggressive or stupid/reckless? (O/8)

Hi guys. I'm just starting PL O/8 on PartyPoker, I'm trying to get the whole "aggressive" thing down. Do you think I went out of control on this hand?

$25 PL Omaha Hi/Lo - Friday, January 14, 22:58:33 EDT 2005
Table tempest (Real Money)
Seat 9 is the button
Total number of players : 10
Seat 1: FRED1057 ( $42.19 )
Seat 2: koosharee ( $23.75 )
Seat 3: dukeee ( $36.22 )
Seat 4: SexxxyBitch ( $23.08 )
Seat 5: Jabroni1254 ( $16.8 )
Seat 6: OutbackShep ( $41.77 )
Seat 7: nighthawk64 ( $30.48 )
Seat 9: ebyrne ( $23.77 )
Seat 10: Diderot123 ( $23.25 )
Seat 8: JRegs ( $30.2 )
Diderot123 posts small blind [$0.25].
FRED1057 posts big blind [$0.5].
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to JRegs [ Qd 6h 9c Qc ]
koosharee folds.
dukeee folds.
SexxxyBitch folds.
Jabroni1254 folds.
OutbackShep calls [$0.5].
nighthawk64 folds.
JRegs raises [$2.25].
ebyrne folds.
Diderot123 folds.
FRED1057 calls [$1.75].
OutbackShep folds.

Ok, I usually don't play this crap, but I had position, and there was one limper and the blinds. If I got called, I hoped to steal the pot on the flop.

** Dealing Flop ** [ 4d, Jh, 9h ]
FRED1057 checks.
JRegs bets [$5].
FRED1057 calls [$5].

I really thought he had a flush draw, so if a heart didn't hit I was going to bet big on the turn.

** Dealing Turn ** [ 2d ]
FRED1057 checks.
JRegs bets [$14.5].
FRED1057 calls [$14.5].

He took a while before making this call. At this point, I'm punching myself in the face for getting so deeply involved in a pot with a hand I should have folded preflop.

** Dealing River ** [ 4c ]
FRED1057 checks.
JRegs checks.
FRED1057 shows [ 9s, 8s, Jd, Ts ] two pairs, jacks and nines.
JRegs shows [ Qd, 6h, 9c, Qc ] two pairs, queens and fours.
JRegs wins $42.05 from the main pot with two pairs, queens and fours.
There was no qualifying low hand.

What do you think? Do you like the mentality, or was it needlessly foolish? Thanks for your help.

Position on what, the $1 that's already in the pot? Anyone who calls your raise is going to be a favorite over your hand. Ok this goon made an exception and called with a horrid hand himself. Maybe someone can twodimes the hands and see which is a favorite.

Ok taking a stab at the flop isn't too bad. I'd probably make a 1/2 sized pot bet. Why make a full size pot bet when a half a pot bet will produce the same result (getting him to fold if he misses the flop)?

After he calls I'd check/fold the turn.

Excessively reckless, there is no need to play such weak speculative hands to smash the $25 PL game in Party. Reasonable solid starters will do.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the only flop where he can't be on a flush draw of any sort? Either he has two hearts in his hand or he doesn't, and no other flushes can exist in this hand. Am I missing the point? It looks like you dodged a bullet there.

Sorry. I misread. Two hearts on the flop.
