Default Going Broke In High No Limit Texas Holdem

I hope to word this in a way to get quality responses from respected posters on this board.

Due to the fact I am a relative novice in No Limit, I find the hand analysis very valuable.

Well, here goes

I have read almost all of the published books on Texas Holdem, many of the authors explain all poker Pro's have gone broke at least once and if they state they haven't they are lying (Doyle Brunson)

My question is say a high limit player goes broke be it $50,000 or several hundred thousand or a million
how do they get back to that level of game and how long does it take.

I know these are generalities, but do they have backers once they go broke?

It would be hard for me to imagine Phil Ivey or Gus Hansen playing No limit $100 buyins and build from there.

I have spent alot of time trying to come up with this without looking foolish.

I read the forum daily as I play sit and go's on poker stars

Thanks

You'll probably get better responses in the WPT forum. I would imagine though that deals are made between pros...

This forum has nothing to do with SNGs of course. Not that you're not allowed to read his forum, but, just want to be sure you don't apply stuff that you read here.

I am not a respected poster, but I have been flamed by one.

Most players have experienced going broke because you do not start out as a world class player. You start out as a losing player, and you are still a losing player long after you first think you aren't.

Many big game pros play games that stress their bankroll because they are willing to risk everything to play the biggest games they can. Some need to feel this risk, others just make bad risk reward judgements. Many of these players do go broke, and simply borrow money when that happens.

As for estimating how long it takes to build a million dollar bankroll from something like ten thousand, who knows. Some guys do it in less than a year, some never do it.

Seriously, when I heard Nicky on the WSOP stud tourney talk about taking 10k to 1 million in one year I was shocked.

I mean he had been playing for awhile...and was playing like 18 hours a day or soemthing, but goddamn wouldnt people start avoiding games with him in it??

Is there really a million out there to be won at the Taj in a yr??

I mean even if you got tremendous cards... and played flawlessly...it just doesnt seem possible to run your roll up that much in a yr given the bankroll limitations of the first few months.

I've seen friends - crazy, over their bankroll heads friends - get staked for 5K on a Friday and have 100K on a Sunday night - This [censored] happens more often than you might think.

It's just a really ugly roller coaster. The same guy will often be broke a week later. Making the money is not the challenge, keeping it is.
