Default Please analyze tourney structure

B+M tournament. $40 + 10 buy in. No rebuys. t1500 chips. Blinds go up every 15 minutes. Here is the blind schedule:

1. 10-20
2. 15-30
3. 25-50
4. 50-100
5. 100-200
6. 200-400
7. 300-600
8. 400-800
9. 500-1000
10. 1k-2k
11. 2k-4k
12. 3k-6k

I had less than 10 BB after level 4 and everyone had less than 10 BB by level 9. Five-handed, the chip leader had 6 BB. This felt like a total crapshoot to me.

Assuming 40-60 players and payouts of 55-30-10-5%, is this a tournament worth playing in? (even if you assume that you are one of the best players in the tourney).

15 min. levels B&M is generally a good indication that its not a great tournament structure.

The chip leader having 6 BB with 5 players left if awful. That says crapshoot to me. But the worst thing I see here is the 25% rake. I wouldn't play in that tournament.

With 15 minute blind increases, this does sound like a crapshoot to me..almost like a turbo. With an initial starting chip count of 1500, I would expect to see at least 30 minute blind rounds.
