Default New to Stud hi-lo

Hey guys,

I usually play shorthanded hold'em, but we're having a mixed games tournament that changes up every sunday, and i was wondering what quick basic strategies you could fill me in on for a Stud hi-lo tournament.

I really know nothing about the game, so whatever you feel i should know please feel free to fill me in.

Thanks

When many people play the hand go for low.

When a hand is likely to be heads up or mayabe 3way play for high.

This means when the tourney is down to a few people almost all hands are heads up. You should play mainly for high...but also play super preium low hands

if i'm interpreting your post correctly, you are playing a short-handed stud/8 tournament? i haven't played one of those but i've played plenty of stud/8 ring games that were short-handed (from heads-up to about four-handed)... in these situations, you basically ram the living bejeezus out of the pot when you have a made hand (i.e., a high pair)... since a low draw is exactly that (a draw), you are not usually getting the right price to try to make a low... plus in a tournament, you could bust if you don't make your draw... so play the pairs strong
