Have you guys tried 6 max tables
these games are gold mines...tight aggressive rules...maybe everybody knew that already. I decided to make the last 150 bb of my $1/$2 at 6 max before moving up to 2/4....I may never leave them.

Re: Have you guys tried 6 max tables
Having found 1/2 full to composed almost entirely of rocks, I tried the 6 max and was amazed, nay shocked, at the standard of play (or lack thereof).
Currently running 8BB/100 which will no doubt fall, but there is no question it is more profitable than PP 1/2 full. |

I guess it's because the "action junkies" prefer to play short handed in order to get involved in more hands.

Re: Have you guys tried 6 max tables
I don't doubt that for a second, in fact I am grateful for it vp$ip of 80-100 are pretty regular on many tables, the typical table has one guy on about 20, me on 28-30, 2 guys on 50-60 and one on 90 - ideal.

Re: Have you guys tried 6 max tables
The variance can be really hard to take in 6max though. From what I've read 100-200 BB downswings aren't uncommon, 30-90 BB downswings are a regular occurence and there have even been respected 2+2ers that have had 400+ BB downswings. I moved up to $1/$2 last week in the middle of a downswing and lost 30 BB at the 6max tables. The quality of the players is disgustingly bad, but the variance can take it's toll on the weak of heart.

Re: Have you guys tried 6 max tables
Don't move up while on downswing!! You're probably not in the right frame of mind to play at your best. Most of all, you will be focused on the wrong things and don't have the right patience. "I want to win back my money so I'll move up where I can win it back faster" is the fastest way to blow your bankroll.

Re: Have you guys tried 6 max tables
Yeah I cashed out 1/4 of my bankroll tonight and moved back down to $.5/$1. I figured I'd finish out my downswing at $.5/$1 and continue to improve my game before I move up again.
