(Small) 2001fp problem

Everything about this monitor is great, except:

Sometimes it takes a while to turn on. However, if I turn my computer on then force quit it, the monitor will turn on. I have a VGA connection to an HPze5170 notebook, if that helps. And, all the connections are fine.

Any thoughts?
