Default Comments on QQ Please

The SB was a rock. The CO was a loose maniac just donating all night. I was sure with the 3-bet and raising that the SB was on AA or AKs (which I hoped) or the KK (which I feared). I was only concerned about the J10 from the CO, not the SB because of the PF action. Wondering about my turn and river play...still agonizing over this hand.

3bet the turn. If he caps raise the river and call a 3bet. He wouldn't 3bet you preflop with 10J so the only hand you are worried about is a set of kings. Set over set is so unlikely.

So 3bet the turn and raise the river, calling a 3bet.

Hi.
welcome.
I'd 3-bet the turn. Especially since all the others are calling everything and padding the pot. If he caps I'd call down on the river. i'm not folding this set here.

i don't think 3-betting the turn is unreasonable here, if the SB decides to cap i'm calling down on the river and cursing my luck if the SB flips over pocket kings

3-bet turn. if he caps and leads the river, just call without an excessive aggro read. he's not putting that much action in with TPTK or an overpair.

quick question - if we are capped on the turn by the SB who was read to be a rock, how likely is it that we're beaten?

i only ask because i don't understand raising the river and calling a 3 bet after a rock has capped the turn

How big of a rock? It matters alot here. A big rock I would play it like you did. A little rock who is just a too tight TAG I would 3 bet the turn before calling down if he caps. I don't think you have to worry about CO at all here.

if he caps the turn, i'd say maybe we have a 10-20% chance of having the best hand.. mostly hoping that our read is an insufficient sample size.

you have to be 67% sure you have the best hand on the river (if you plan to call it) to raise his river bet.

you only have to be good 4% of the time to make calling the river correct.

notice that to raise-fold the river, you'd have to be 67% sure you had the best hand to raise, but then somehow be 97% sure you are beaten to make folding correct. raise-fold would be terrible.

i did say call the river btw.. not sure if you thought i was saying raise or not.

This hand is perfect to just call the flop 3-bet, and raise everyone on the turn. If he makes it 3-bets and has KK, so be it. The flop cap really makes little sense in this spot.
