Final Pot: 18.50 BB Results in white below: Hero has 9s Ts (flush, ten high). UTG+1 has Ah 9c (three of a kind, nines). Outcome: Hero wins 18.50 BB. I really like my flop capping figuring I am ahead and have 14 outs to out draw his overpair. Anyone not cap the turn against villain? I only saw 77 as a holding he could have and didn't seem like a likely one. |

Re: Questionable Turn play
I just call his raise on the turn. I'm figuring he has a bigger 9 or set at this point. His river play tells me it's not the latter.

Re: Questionable Turn play
I think it's all fine, including the turn 3-bet. UTG+1 raised pre-flop, which means he could have capped the flop w/and overpair. Also, not many players will cap with a top pair of 9s. You will be good most times to 3-bet the turn.

Re: Questionable Turn play
u should 3 bet that turn for several reasons
1) you could be ahead often 2) you got a TON of outs to either win or split Perfect play, except that its a pretty bad PF call. Oh well, the key is post flop! P.S. I assume that a non spade river, you check. |

Re: Questionable Turn play
What about a c/r on the turn? If he 3-bets you here, you can be pretty sure you're drawing and save a bet.

Re: Questionable Turn play
Definite fold pre-flop. You have 1/3 bet in, and T9s is garbage 3 handed and out of position.

Re: Questionable Turn play
I think it's a pretty questionable preflop call. I think it's a pretty questionable preflop call in a game where the small blind is half the small bet... let alone when 1/3.
That said... absent a read on UTG+1 it sure looks like he's overplaying a big pocket pair. You've got goads of outs... I like it all the way around once the flop comes. I think his 3-bet has to set off warning bells... but you're ahead against a majority of his likely holdings with draws against everything except 77 (assuming we agree to consider "drawing" to quads to be something of a misnomer) |
