Default Fun With KK

Party Poker 5-10, 10 handed. Reads in this hand are fairly irrelevent, IMO.

Preflop:
UTG limps, MP limps, The Dude raises in the SB w/ K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. BB calls, everyone calls.

Flop: (7.5 SBs) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 Players)
The Dude bets, BB raises, UTG and MP both coldcall. The Dude 3-bets, everyone calls.

Turn: (9.5 BBs) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 Players)
The Dude checks, BB bets, UTG folds, MP calls. The Dude raises, BB calls, MP calls.

River: (15.5 BBs) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players)
The Dude bets...

He missed raises PF, flop, and turn so he shouldn't have AA. 99 should be the only hand he could have that can beat you.

This seems to me like an obvious place where you don't slow down. I'm still a noob, so maybe I just don't understand why you would be questioning this.

I think the only question would be whether or not a checkraise is possible here, no?

Dude, um, seems standard. Am I missing something?

What percentage of readers on this board do you think choose to either call the flop and cr the turn or 3-bet the flop and lead out on the turn instead of the above line? And how much does one give away by taking either of those lines instead?

Good point.

The turn checkraise really makes it pretty evident what your hand is, but there's no other option with UTG and MP trapped in between.

Anyway, nice hand. I thought you were asking about the river play.

very cool... I think I will try it sometime. Just curious if there was any doubt that BB would bet the turn and were you going to make this play regardless of what the turn card was? What cards would have changed your plan and what course of action would you taken?

How can the aggressiveness of BB be irrelevant in deciding whether to attempt the turn check-raise?

You'd think it'd be obvious, and you can lay down any A on the turn, except that they both called me down w/ weak aces. I can't tell you guys enough how often I get called down when I checkraise the turn like this.

Yeah, I should have left it at "The Dude checks..." on the turn. My bad.
