I know you're joking but that kind of "i'm due" thought needs to leave your game. Play +EV situations every time regardless of what came before. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

this would normally be a good situation to call and fold on flop if i dont hit my set, dont you think?

No. This is a good time to fold. Middle pocket pairs perform poorly against EP raisers. Middle pocket pairs thrive on implied odds. Your ipmlied odds suck when you cold call with this had.
