external monitor to laptop help
Ok, I attached my new dell 2001fp to my laptop and I can get a picture on the monitor, but i can't get the resolution above 1024x768 (my laptops highest resolution). I have been trying to screw around the windows display settings but to no avail. Can anyone help me please?

Re: external monitor to laptop help
maybe you need to update the video driver on your laptop. if you have a dell (and mayeb this applies equally to other brands), you can go to the dell web site and get the latest driver for your system. that's what i needed to do when i wanted to run extended desktop with an external monitor on my laptop.

Re: external monitor to laptop help
Ok, my laptop is an HP model ze4547wm (wm is for Walmart--also my haberdasher).
I'd like to know whether or not I can just hook up a dell 2001fp right out of the box and expect it to work ok with no hassles or need for additional blah blah blah. Can Dell answer this question? If so, would someone please provide a link? Thank you. |
