KQs leak? PT stats analysis required.
Hi all,
Been going through my PT stats (28K hands total) and have been surprised to find KQs as one of the hands that is costing me money! (only 0.02 BB/hand... but still). I am otherwise a semi-successful players (3.35 BB/100). I believe that KQs is a power hand and I always raise it preflop. The stats from PT for KQs are: - Times: 78 - Win %: 43.6 - Net : -$32 - BB/hand: -0.02 - Blinds: 17 - CCPF: 6 - VP$IP: 96 - W$WSF: 43 - PFRaise: 81 - RFI %: 32 - LwPC: 3.85 - WtSD: 42 - W$SD: 51 I will be grateful for any suggestions as to why I might be loosing money with KQs. Thank you & happy new year! |

I wish I had my PT stats handy, but my hard drive fried...
A VPIP of 96% is way to high with this hand IMO. You are probably taking too many flops with a slim chance of winning. The optimal VPIP is more like 80% (this is just a guess since I don't have any stats handy). You probably have been running bad with this hand as well. Brad |

I looked over my stats.
My W$SF is 48%, My W$SD is 55%. I think you're running bad, but you are also raising this hand a little too often. Taking a look at your positional stats for this hand would help. |

Re: KQs leak? PT stats analysis required.
KQs is a powerful hand that's quite difficult for a TAG to lose with.
If you're a 3.35BB/100 winner over 28k hands then it's very unlikely you're losing money with this hand. A sample size of 78 times is nothing and you have probably just been running bad with it. Try not to worry too much over stats for individual hands especially suited ones. |

Looks like you're raising a bit too much with it.

Ok - thank you all for you replies.
A few people have pointed out that I may be raising too often with KQs. In what situations should I not raise? I have always open raised with it from any position. I also raise limpers. I cold-call quite often with it (wrong move?) Thanks for your input. |

In my entire career, I've had KQs 520 times, VP$IP is 98.08%, PFR is 86.54%, it's a +.32bb/hand. KQo I've gotten 1719 times, VP$IP is 88.56% and PFR is 66.55%, it's a +.1bb/hand winner. In the last 15k hands KQs is 100%/90.38%, and KQo is 90.06%/69.01%, so I've been getting even more aggro with KQ lately. Your numbers dont seem too far out of line, if they are at all. |

A sample size of 78 times is nothing and you have probably just been running bad with it. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly, you could have one big hand and win $32 with it and be dead even. In one hand. Anytime 1 hand can move your numbers that far, insufficient data. KQs is a big winner, dont get weak with it! |

I'm mucking that hand behind a tight pfr. I never cold call with it. If I play it I raise it from any position. It's a solid .71BB/100 for me.

Re: KQs leak? PT stats analysis required.
I have a question. SSH tells us to raise from any position with KQs. I know when playing against aware opponents you are supposed to vary up your play, but in micro limits when playing against people who don't pay attention (pokertracker helps determine the ones) shouldn't you raise everytime to maximize EV?
Any comments are welcome. |
