Flopped straight ... FPS or valid line?
Very early in my session at this table, so no meaningful reads.
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (8 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is CO with K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 3 folds, UTG+1 calls. Flop: (5.50 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) (Whoohoo! I bet he got a piece of that, too ...) UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, Hero calls. (I generally call a raise on the flop and raise the turn in these spots when heads up.) Turn: (4.75 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) (Meh. Now I may be splitting ... if he has AT, so be it.) UTG+1 bets, Hero raises, UTG+1 3-bets, Hero calls. (I put him on a set when he three-bet, and thought for 10 seconds. Here's what I came up with ... if I just call and the river pairs the board or is a ten, I'll save money just calling the river. If the board doesn't pair, I can raise the river. I expect him to call when I do. (I would call a three-bet, but believe that's unlikely.) River: (10.75 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) (Blech.) UTG+1 bets, Hero calls. |

Re: Flopped straight ... FPS or valid line?
He just as easily could have had QK and made 2 pair on the turn. Automatically putting someone on a set seems a little rash. Even if he does have a set, you are still a 4-1 favorite. Cap when you are that far ahead.
