Default KTs flop top pair

Ok I feel like I played this all wrong, not sure what I was thinking. Looking at it again I feel like I probably should have just bet out on the flop. At the time I thought I should try for a check raise.

There's a good chance you have the best hand on the flop. But the flop is dangerous, and you could easily go on to lose even if you are ahead.

The flop is unlikely to get checked through, and I think going for a checkraise is fine. If the bet comes from CO, you can put pressure on the others, though no flush draw is folding anyway, I doubt you'll get rid of any 8's either, and it's quite possible you also won't be able to get a jack to fold.

Not knowing where the flop bet is going to come from, I might just lead the flop. I'm really not sure what is best.

When SB bets the river, it certainly looks like KJ or at least two pair. I'd call, like you did, but I wouldn't expect to win (especially since the flop action has me wondering if I was ahead to begin with).

sshe advocates raising KJs here. KTs isn't too far off from that.

I think I'm way too tight from the BB. I need to do some re-reading.

Well I dont think I could ever raise with KTs in the BB, maybe if I was against really loose callers. You have the second worst position plus you can easily be beat even with top pair.
